Backup Compatible Bike Computer for iAero

After the failure of my iAero at a cold, wet. and windy race last weekend. (see the topic "Cold Weather Performance" on this fourm), I'm considering the possibility of an iBike compatible computer as a backup. The Garmin Edge 500 seems like a possibility. It should be able to read the iBike sensor and pickup the power. If the iBike were to fail, I'd have all the data but power. Has anyone had any experience with the Edge 500? Is there another possibillity I should consider?

I have a 705, but the 500 looks like a good choice and is not as pricey.
