New FW just installed in my iAero - vers 4.18. New iBike software for the computer. Installs and loads fine. Attach iBike - software sees it, downloads files, erases data - just fine. But...
In the iBike software I get NO cadence for this morning's ride, the first ride with the new setup. Now, I was getting cadence readings all throughout my 2.5 hour ride off the iAero just fine. Downloaded the ride file, opened it but cadence is "Zero" - flat all the way through. Strangely, I get what appears to be good power readings which I thought were dependent upon cadence as one of the determining factors. I also get good speed, HRM, slope, wind etc. But no cadence. OK, so I then went back an opened up a ride file created BEFORE the upgrade. I knew this one had cadence in it. But again, no cadence on this one either. I then went back through several more selected ride files. No cadence is showing up. I just went out and ensured the cadence was reading on the iAero - it's definitely showing on the display but no the software: Version 4.0.2.
Anyone have a clue why this suddendly is broken? I sure don't....

I think Travis is unraveling a bug that is causing this.

OK - as long as someone knows it's happening (and it's not me leaving some setting unchecked...). Incidentally, incase Travis is monitoring, open up the .CSV in Excel - all the cadences are showing ".001", so whatever data is being stored in iAero, isn't making it over to the file.
Will stand by for word from Travis. Hope it's soon. Gonna take the iBike and change the timing interval to 5 secs so I can at least store the values in the iAero while the bug gets looked into.

Re: No cadence with iBike SW version 4.0.2 - update
Today's 24 mile recovery ride is now showing correct cadence in the iBike software. So all the data including cadence did make the transfer over from the iAero to the database. Tried to retrieve yesterday's "problem" ride but it's flat (of course) because the datapoints are all at ".001".
Travis, if you're monitoring this, I'll post results from tomorrow's outing.

Hi,
I have had this happen three times (using at least 2 firmware versions, incl latest 4.18)
Cheers, Chris

Re: No cadence with iBike SW version 4.0.2- update
OK, rode 42 miles this morning. Cadence consistent during the ride. All was well. Got back, connected up, downloaded ride and indeed cadence is present and just by rote memory looks to be exactly the kind of ride (cadence) I was doing.
Is it fixed? Does this software "self-heal"? Only difference is the recording interval - changed from 1 sec to 5 sec - but changed after I noticed cadence missing in action). Any impact there? I'm going to go back to a 1 sec interval tomorrow and try again. Solving intermittent problems like this (with any kind of electronics) is sometimes a crap shoot.
Anyway, good values all around this morning.

Re: No cadence with iBike SW version 4.0.2
Changed recording interval to 1 sec. Rode 32 miles yesterday AM. Good cadence all the way through the ride. Got home, plugged in and good data including cadence is brought in to the software and properly displayed. Shall we declare "victory"? Could have been a "funky" software load at the time I saw the problem? Not sure why.
Going to continue to monitor. For right now, I have nothing new to report.
