Dammit! I went to plug in the iBike to switch profiles and the only thing to show up in my "Send profile to iBike" choices is the sample profile. I previously had four different profiles for my wired and wireless bike setup with edited versions. Can someone please tell me how the profile files are saved on a Macintosh, where I might go hunting for them (what to search for on the hard drive), and why the hell they seem to have disappeared from my choices on the iBike software?
This really sucks.
Where are profiles stored?

I am having the same problem, I can not find and load a previously created and saved profile. iBike wired and Apple computer.sussman wrote:Dammit! Re: Where are profiles stored?
Guys, this is a known problem for some of the Mac users. The settings are saved in <user name>:Libraries:Prefereneces:Velocomp:iBike2; however, my guess is that neither of you will find the settings file there. That's the problem.Silkhope wrote:I am having the same problem, I can not find and load a previously created and saved profile. iBike wired and Apple computer.sussman wrote:Dammit! There's a chance that I could recover your profile information from one of your rides files. If after processing your cd/4-mi rides, you attached that profile to any of your ride files by doing "Tools -> Switch Profile After-the-Ride...", then the important info from the profile would be encoded in your CSV file. Try opening your ride files and look for the message "Extracted from <CSV ride file>". If you see that, email the ride file to me and I will extract your hard-earned profile for you.
In the mean time, if either of you have a different computer that you can use, try that. Or if you can use Parallels, try the Windows version.
I'm working with the vendor of the development system to try to solve this Mac platform problem. I understand your frustration--sorry.

Travis, This might be very obvious, but I'm not near my mac at the moment to check. Whilst things are behaving can we store a copy of the profiles somewhere else for safe keeping? Peter

Re: Where are profiles stored?
Yes, as long as you do it before you exit the program.ptmoman wrote:Travis, This might be very obvious, but I'm not near my mac at the moment to check. Whilst things are behaving can we store a copy of the profiles somewhere else for safe keeping? Peter
* Download your coast-downs & 4-mi ride and accept the profile
* Go to menu "Profiles -> Edit Profiles..."
* Highlight your new profile and press the "Export..." button and keep track where you save the *.ibp file.
Next time you launch iBike 2, "Import..." the profile before you download your ride files from the device.

Re: Where are profiles stored?
Mac guys,
Preliminary indications are that we finally have a build that solves the problem with settings (and profiles) not being saved for some users on the Mac platform. Let us get a little more testing done, and then as soon as we can button it up we'll get it on the server for download.
If you want a copy for testing, let me know and I'll get it to you ahead of the release: travispape at yahoo.

I've got the same quirk, but luckily I had exported my profile, and I just re-import every time I re-start the software. One easy thing that might be important is that with the software, the directory path to the you've given is incorrect. If the software is looking there, it'll never find the profile. The *preference* file is actually found at ~/Library/Preferences/com.velocomp.iBikeX.plist (there's nosuch folder as "Libraries," and it never created a "Velocomp" folder).travispape wrote:Mac guys,

Re: Where are profiles stored?
Curt is up and running fine now with the 2.0.4 build, like everyone else that has reported this problem. It's nice to have this one behind us.curtw wrote:I've got the same quirk, but luckily I had exported my profile, and I just re-import every time I re-start the software. Let me know if you are experiencing this problem and I'll get the build to you if it hasn't made it to the download site yet.
