Speed and Distance are off since upgrade to firmware 4

Post by klaus »

I recently upgraded the Ibike pro gen III to the 4 firmware for the first 3 weeks I did ride it on my Look bike and everything looked great distance speed, ...
Love the new menu, startup process, ... still need to get used to the easy setup

I did 7 rides for about 450 km and all looked fine with no strange reading

back from holiday I loaded my firmware 3 profile for my recumbent tricycle with 14" wheels and all my rides are off and way of almost 2x It is identfied as profile 2 on the ibike I have set it properly I checked wheel circumference and it look on on the profile but the numbers are still off.

Any suggestions. could it be that there is a bug and that it takes the circumference from profile 1. Most users would not notice since the wheels are close but in my case they are quiet different 2115mm and 1165.

Still having issues with the ibike pro. speed and distance are still of. now it seems to be pretty much 2x. I tried to see if there was anything magnetic on the wheel but could not find anything. changed booth profiles to have the same circumference. will now try to set one of them to 0 and see if that does the trick.

I thought it might be the other sensions HRM or cadence but that has been excluded any other suggestions ? bad batter ??

can you send me that ride file to boyd (at) totalcyclist dot com
I'll take a look at it and see if I can figure anything out.

Boyd many thanks for you help.
I feel stupid now that i found the reason for the bizarre readings.

My magnet had twisted on the wheel and the sensor was feeling the magnet and then the screw(that seemed to be magnetized too).

I could not get the screw tight enough and added some tape around the spoke now the files once again look perfectly valid and the distance and speed is in line with the GPS and bike computer

I love the firmware 4 and all the new features. Switching from bike to trike now takes seconds (well a minute I keep on searching the change profile option
