HR Chest strap

Hey, I'm doing a sprint triathlon this weekend and wanted to wear my chest strap on the swim so that I can track my HR on the bike with the iBike unit. Does anyone know if the chest strap is waterproof?

It is water resistant, not water proof. You can try taking off the battery cover and applying a bit of extra o-ring silicone to the tiny o-ring. Maybe wrap the center section not the ribbed portion with saran wrap smothered in Vaseline with a couple of rubber bands.

I have used my Garmin HR strap many times underneath my wetsuit or tri top with no issues. As far as I know, the Garmin chest strap is the same one that comes with the iBike.

Not a bad idea for me to check the silicone around the O-rings of the battery covery though!
