Ibike needs to use a com port in the range of 1-32

Post by rsmithersfitness »

I keep getting this meesage and in the Com Port of Ibike drop down the only option i'm getting is a <-1>
I checked the USB port with my IPod cable and it worked fine. Any idea what the problem would be? I also tried restarting my computer and also reinstalling my Ibike 2 Software.

Did you also re-install the drivers - the second file called CP210x......... as it sounds as though its not recognising the com port when trying to connect the device?

I got this error at one point when upgrading to the Gen III. I rebooted the PC with the iAero connected via usb and it worked fine after that.

Does your computer make a noise when you plug in the USB cord?
Have you taken a look in your com ports under device manager and checked if any of them have a yellow circle with an exclamation point by them?

What we may have to do is try to reassign a com port to the iBike drivers. It can be complicated and would best be done over the phone. Let me know if those two things work and if not I'll help you get this figured out.

I would perhaps do an uninstall of the IB3 software/drivers.
Do a system restore to a point before the software install.
Download IB3 from Ibikesports (just in case your cd is corrupt).
Reinstall the IB3 and drivers.
My only thought, best of luck
