We've gone wireless!

Post by Velocomp »

We are delighted to announce a completely new series of products, software, and apps, all of which communicate wirelessly:

1) New "PowerPod Wireless" power meter. PowerPod Wireless enables full wireless compatibility with the new Velocomp Wireless app, and also Velocomp Aero software.

NOTE: OLDER VERSIONS OF POWERPOD V3-V5 DO NOT ACHIEVE FULL WIRELESS COMPATIBILITY. YOU CAN UPGRADE TO POWERPOD WIRELESS AND GET A $100 DISCOUNT AND ALSO A NEW FACTORY WARRANTY. SEE HERE FOR DETAILS:

2) New "AeroPod Wireless" aero sensor and power meter. AeroPod Wireless enables full wireless compatibility with the new Velocomp Wireless app, and also Velocomp Aero software.

Using the Velocomp Wireless app, you can also conduct CdA testing, using your smartphone as the control and readout device, and the "Aero DashBoard" feature of Velocomp Wireless. This functionality duplicates the "AeroPod 2.0" ConnectIQ app, but no Garmin is needed :-)

You can see the Aero Dashboard in action in the VW demo video linked in this post.

NOTE: OLDER VERSIONS OF AEROPOD V3-V5 DO NOT ACHIEVE FULL WIRELESS COMPATIBILITY. YOU CAN UPGRADE TO AEROPOD WIRELESS AND GET A $150 DISCOUNT, AND ALSO A NEW FACTORY WARRANTY. SEE HERE FOR DETAILS:

3) New "Velocomp Wireless" app for iOS/Android, which replicates almost all of the features, and look and feel, of Velocomp Aero software. Check out this short video which demonstrates its functionality:

The iOS app works with your iPhone or iPad, and the Android app works with your Android smartphone. You can find the app at your appropriate App Store...

4) An updated version of Velocomp Aero (1.0.25), which connects wirelessly to PowerPod Wireless and AeroPod Wireless products.

To connect wirelessly, turn on your device, then click on the clear USB icon of VA.

Wireless is a great step forward for those who have a wireless device. However, my Newton obviously is not, and ever since accepting the upgraded Velocomp Aero software, my newton is no longer detected as connected by hardwire. I am using the same connecting wire that I have used for quite some time, but the “download files” and “network” icons do not turn green. Is there a way to roll my software back to the non-wireless, for testing if nothing else?

Also, The VeloTrack app on my iPhone no longer communicates with Issac. It times out every time.

Thanks,

Gary K

Velotrack app is down right now; we are replacing its server.

Go to the Security and Privacy settings of your Mac. You will likely find that you need to accept the Silicon Labs driver. That should fix your connectivity problem.

No Joy. Perhaps I didn’t add the driver correctly.

Try reinstalling the driver.

I deleted and successfully reinstalled the driver. I did a hard restart of my Newton. Then I tried to connect to both AV and Isaac. Isaac said it had connected to my Newton, but it wont recognize my device. AV just endlessly scanned for devices. Obviously, it is set for wireless, but I cannot see how to set it for a hard wired connection.

Also, now I am getting HTTP error when I try to attach a jpeg.

for your jpegs, make sure the name of it does not include any . or -. I name mine "1" or something similar.

If you can connect Isaac to your Newton, then VA should work as well. Make sure Isaac is not running when you attempt to connect to VA.
