Water and/or humidity and Powerpod

Post by BBQcyclist »

Q/ Am I being overly cautious by removing my Powerpod from my handlebar when rain is forecast and I have a group ride coming up, or alternately when washing my bike?

It's because I prefer to (re)move it as little as possible from its mount (if possible)!

Will water contact risk screwing up the Powerpod circuitboard, or is it thoroughly waterproof?

Thanks

One of the things we've learned through the years is to have a very healthy respect for water.

We've designed PowerPod to be water resistant; that is, if you get caught in a storm, or even ride with it in tropical conditions, it should do just fine.

That said, if I was washing my bike, I'd avoid shooting high-pressure water at the PowerPod, and I would blow-out its wind port and USB port if it became wet.
