More watts than DFPM on downhills

Post by TuRu00 »

Hello!

I made an O&B cal ride and started a new route.. After that, using Isaac, I noticed that the results were very very close to the DFPM data except on the downhills. Is there any way to calibrate this? I think that it is not really important because on downhills I prefer to look to the road instead of the power meter :D but It would be great to get the data closer to the the reality...

PS: attached both files.
PS2: I would appreciate very much if is there any other tweak needed.

Thanks!

Your CdA is a little bit high; you're more aero than the normal cyclist!

The attached profile will help with downhills, and improve overall accuracy elsewhere too.

You're correct, though, that downhill watts aren't so important--you SHOULD be looking at the road!

Hello! Thanks for your help... how did you know that my CdA was high? Is there a normal value? How can I tweak this value for further calibrations?

Thanks!

For this level of fine-tuning, you're getting the benefit of 13 years of looking at ride files. Some day I will figure out how to write it down...there really is a system to it! But right now it's easier to tweak things than to explain things.

Sorry...

Ok... i rode again yesterday and did an "apply profile after the ride" using Isaac. There is something that I do not understand. If you corrected the CdA in the new profile you sent me because in the one I upload I was so aerodynamic.. the watts after applying the new profile should (in general) increase, is that correct?

The thing is that the watts decreased and were far from the DFPM i trust.

Thanks!

You need to load this profile in to your PP:

1) Import the profile into Isaac

2) Connect your PP to Isaac

3) Highlight the imported profile

4) Click the "Send to Device" button

Hello!

This is what I mean.. http://analisispowerpod.blogspot.com.es ... fting.html

I imported the profile in Isaac, and i applied it to a ride to check before sending it to PowerPod using the "Switch Profile After the Ride" function in Isaac, but the results seems to be less accurate (or at least less close to the Rotor Power)

Thanks!

Please post the .ibr file here. It is nearly impossible to look at screen shots and learn anything useful.
