Speed/Watts Problem
Speed/Watts Problem
My Newton worked fine out of the box after intial setup. Did the Cal ride the other day and noticed my speed was 4 m/h -- which was totally wrong as I was going at least 15 m/h. Have done a hard reset and still not working. Has anyone ever encountered a problem like this? Any ideas? I have to be missing something here.
Re: Speed/Watts Problem
Some things to check:
Positioning of your speed sensor and wheel magnet
Wheel size in your Newton
Speed sensor battery

Thanks Ken -- I'll check those items out.
Re: Speed/Watts Problem
Ken's suggestions are great. If you're still having a problem then post a ride file.

No help... tried all three and no chage to m/h or watts. Did notice that evelation seems to be functioning properly. Cadence appears to be alright as well. Ideas?

Please post a ride file that illustrates the issue.ddtsbr wrote:No help... tried all three and no chage to m/h or watts. Did notice that evelation seems to be functioning properly. Cadence appears to be alright as well. Ideas?

Here's the ride file -- my last 5k run was much quicker than this 3 mile ride.

Re: Speed/Watts Problem
Just figured it out... user error. I had the diameter rather than circumference in iBike profile. Really appreciate all the posts trying to figure things out. One the plus side, I know the owner's manual by heart now. Thanks Velocomp !!!

Make sure to do a new Cal Ride.
