Hi,
Hardware installmnt on the bike for the iBike works fine.
Problem is with the connection on my computer.
The computer refuse to recognize the device.
I have followed all suggestion on User's manual regarding this problem without results.
Computer says thath an Error Code 10 is present.
I can see the Silicon Laboratories drivers for irtual com port.
Furthere the software recognize this driver, but when I try a connection, let say for Firmware release etc., I cannot get a connection.
I have finalzed all setup on the ibike excluding te Coast Down.
Pls. Im fighting with this issue from 4 days without results...
Any suggestion will be welcome
Thanks

Issue with Ibike Pro to Computer Connection

I have no idea but I will try to help you through it one step at a time.
Running iBike2 can you click on Device > Connect without the iBike itself attached to the head?
If yes, then the problem may be in the iBike. Try a hard reset on the iBike by removing the battery, flipping it over for a couple of seconds and then putting it in correctly.
If no, can you plug the USB connector from the head into a different USB port?
Let me know.

Re: Issue with Ibike Pro to Computer Connection
Hi Fernando,
thanks for your suggestions.
Yes iBike2 recognize the unit without the iBike Pro attached.
Unfortunately I ave followed the suggestion about the Hard Reset without results.
I have unsuccesfully tried also with different usb ports.

Re: Issue with Ibike Pro to Computer Connection
Sorry I can't help more. Someone from Velocomp will have to help you figure out if it is the iBike or the head. If I think of anything I will post here. Do you know another iBike user in your area? If so you could try his head unit and see if that works.

FYI to everyone: it was a defective USB adapter. Sometimes these things happen...

OK!
After Cable change, I'm using the unit from late April very successfully.
Thanks for this wonderful product and sorry for this delayed reply.

I wonder if this might be my problem.Velocomp wrote:FYI to everyone: it was a defective USB adapter. Sometimes these things happen...
(See http://www.ibikeforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=352, "Mac and iAero Won't Speak to Each Other")
If it is, then I need to send Travis some sort of peace offering for causing him so much grief!
Re: Issue with Ibike Pro to Computer Connection
I just purchased an iBike Pro, and am trying to get it to speak with my MacOS 10.4 PowerBookPro (Intel) laptop, with no luck. My story sounds similar to Stefano's:
- Downloaded and installed latest and greatest iBike s/w (2.0.7) and Mac USB driver (cardinal-osx-V1_02_2-release)
- iBike seems to be able to communicate with the adapter: the correct com port (/dev/cu.SLAB_USBtoUART) appears when the "Device->Connect" function is called
- "Get FW" or "Get Serial Number" functions return "Unit is not responding" error.
- Tried power reset of iBike and different USB ports with no luck.
Any suggestions on how to proceed?
