First Ride

Post by robdos »

Hi

First time out with the powerpod yesterday - I wonder if someone with a bit more knowledge could check the ride?

I see some weird spikes - max power 1232 for example - I also noticed while riding 700+ watts where I wasn't really making any effort. I also noticed power being recorded while coasting downhill.

In my profile I notice my HRM isn't paired - should I add it?

Powerpod is mounted with an upfront mount - I see people on the forum mention 1.4 for the wind setting - mine is 1.24 - should I change it?

Thanks,

Rob

Please post photos from the top, front and side showing how your PowerPod is mounted.

What kind of mount are you using?

Sorry to say but the problem is your Rotor mount, which is not stiff enough for the PowerPod. What is happening is that the mount is flexing on certain stretches of the road, causing watts spikes.

OK. Can anyone recommend an upfront mount? The powerpod on is going to cost about 120usd to get to the UK

Thanks

The K-EDGE Combo Mounts are working fine on my bikes. Others are using them here successfully as well. They also look better. :P
You should also shorten your cables....

K-Edge is fine. Contact tgore@velocomp.com and he will get you discounted pricing and shipping on one of our mounts.

Thanks everyone. I think I'll just use the standard mount and hang my camera off the rotor mount, I hadn't thought of doing that way round!

Cables are just fine, I think it's the angle of the pictures :D

Okay its back on the supplied mount, set back to factory and re-calibrated.

Does the ride look better? I still see some spikes....
