Ok, my remote wind sensor is on order but I rode today in a downpour. There's no way I did the 3990 watts that was shown on the iPro and I didn't have a 102 mph headwind.
So, how long does it take to dry the iPro before it'll work properly again and is there any post ride fix that can at least give me an approximate estimate of today's power numbers. Speed, cadence, HR and everything else are as expected.

Take the battery out and the cover off and leave it like that overnight (you might even want to leave it under a lightbulb to help out). You should be good to go the very next day. I wish I could say that about my "other" power meter.

Something similar just happened to me and now it seems that my wind scaling factor has been permanently changed. I had to repeat the coast downs and calibration ride and my wind scaling changed from 2.2 to 0.77. I don't think my mount moved and the riding tilt is about the same as it was before. Is this normal?

I was having similar problems and fixed it with a reset.

Even with a hard reset, the wind scaling seems to have permanently changed from 2.2 to 0.77. But, I've done a couple rides with it and it seems to be working fine, just with a new wind scaling.

I have had the same thing happen with my iAero. After a ride in the rain my wind scaling has changed, so this is a possibility. So far in both cases here it's changed by quite a bit (enough to really notice). The absolute wind speed feature in firmware 3.09 makes it really easy to check wind scaling should this issue arise, and so far the new wind scaling has seemed to be holding rock steady.

Have you ridden in the rain again? Just wondering if this is something that would change every time.

Yes, a few times within the past week actually. It has stayed rock steady at the same number that it changed that one time. So far it seems to be a one time change.

I don't get rained on much in Tucson, but it seems to take more than 2 days for the unit to dry out. My most recent event... I used the iBike after 3 days of drying and the wind offset and altimeter drifted terribly - resulting in bogus power.

Drift? Over 5 minutes, the offset would range from -38 to +38 mph and any reset didn't stop the drift. Over a 70 mile out-and-back ride from home, I "lost" about 2100 ft of elevation. Of course, the linkage from the altimeter to adjust for drift in the tilt meter leads to bad power readings.

The following day, the wind offset seemed more stable, but the elevation drift was still pretty bad. I re-assigned my local elevation twice in the first 15 minutes (adding ~1000 ft as it drifted down), and still lost 300 ft on the day.

I'm rather worried about the effect of water on the circuitboard and reliability of the unit over time.

Charlie, what you describe is identical to what has happened to me the 2 times I have been caught in heavy rain. Takes a couple of days to stabilize and then required a hard reset. Last time (last week), the unit (Gen III) actually took on a lot of water that was sloshing around inside the screen. I have spoken to Aaron and will be sending it back for re-sealing as this should not happen. I wonder if the poor sealing could have had some impact on the drifting issues I had?
