Comparing Other's Ride Files

Post by Robert »

Just curious if it is possible to look at someones ride file and analyze it with my profile in order to see what kind of effort I would need to complete the same ride? An example would be a race file on a course I have never ridden. I can look at his power data and see what kind of effort to expect, but would analyzing the data with my profile tell me exactly what I would have needed to do in that race?

I realize it wouldn't tell me exactly what to expect, different weather conditions, different race tactics, etc, but it could be a good way to get in the ball park and set up specific training goals.

I tried something similar to your suggestion and it did not work. Each unit has specific charcteristics most notably the wind sensor. I suppose if you know the other persons' profile is very similar to yours then you could apply it for s****s and giggles but in all but nearly identical profiles there are too many variables.

You can adjust the cda, crr, and weight for yourself. To adjust the weight, go to tools->adjust iBike settings
To adjust the cda and crr, you can go to tools->tweak cda, crr, cm (don't worry about the cm).

This will keep the same wind values with out switching the profile after and you can match the variable to the ones in your profile.
