Battery life.

Post by abelleira »

The battery is taking me less than 10 hours. It is normal?

Make sure you fully charge the battery, until the flashing red light goes out.

Battery life will depend on ride length and also how many elapsed days between charges. It is normal for PP to discharge a bit when not being used.

What about battery life in years. How many years can one count that the battery will be durable, before it dies for good? And how can one replace it?

If batteries are properly cared-for (charge your battery every 6 weeks or so during the winter, so it does not go completely dead) then we've seen them last 4 years or more (we started using these batteries about 4 years ago). If your battery does go dead, we will do a factory repair at a nominal charge.

What do you mean by properly care? You mean if during winter it is not used, and therefore it should be charged occasinally? If it is used in the winter as well, then charging is probably as normal?

Does charging the battery before it is empty shortens the life of battery? (It used to be so, but not anymore). Does it have any affect on battery life, if I charge it as soon as it drops under 50%, because of my long rides, that it will last for the entire ride?

Yes, charge every 6 weeks during the winter. This will lengthen, not shorten battery life.
