Re-Aligning iBike after crash
Re-Aligning iBike after crash
So, I have my iBike on an extender in front of my handlebars and it was recently dislodged in a crash. I know that 'riding tilt' is part of the calibration, so it stands to reason that I need to get it back to it's original position for my cal files to be accurate. What's the best way to accomplish this?

Actually, as long as the unit is in the same location, the only thing you need to do is a fresh tilt calibration. After doing the tilt calibration, download the profile in the iBike to your software, click Accept to save it. Now, send it back to the iBike and the new tilt calibration will become part of your permanent setup and profile.

When you say that you have it on an extender in front of your handlebars, what kind of system are you talking about? Can you post a picture of this? I am wondering about the secureness of the mount system and if it might vibrate too much.

Re: Re-Aligning iBike after crash
That is what I worried about. Something like that is definitely not secure enough to support the iBike. You have to remember our accelerometer is sensitive to within a tenth of a degree and it updates 16 times per second. The mount has to be VERY secure and something that you can't flex around.
I would recommend mounting that iBike to the handlebars, and if you are interested in a stem mount I know that John has a program to swap out mounts. You want to make sure that there is no chance of flex or movement of mounts in-between rides.
Of course, you will need to re-do your calibration after you move the mount, but that is something that I can help you with.
