Data Loss And What Needs To Be Re-Entered?

Post by catastrofe »

I had issues this morning with wireless failure. Tried the backwards battery re-boot multiple times but it didn't work, and my last attempt (while riding)resulted in a lost battery door. So, I completed a 2 hour ride with no battery in my iSport.

The door from my VDO MC1.0 fits, so I'm back in business but I'm not sure what data was lost. The date and time needed to be reset but my weight was still there. Did I lose my tilt and calibration ride data? Coast down? Anything else?

Thanks,

Bob

All data, including calibration data, is preserved.

You need only to reset the date and time.

why does the unit default to fast start -yes after a battery change or rest? What do we do to get out of that or is it just to enable the user to input date/time?

Yeah, the fast start is where you enter the time and date, so after a battery change you will want that fast start menu to re-enter time and date. . .or you can sync it via the iBike software.

Rather than just change a battery, go to the setup menu and then to the battery voltage screen. Press the center button to manually shut the unit off. Now take the battery out and put a new one in (don't delay while doing this). You won't have to reset anything the next time you turn the unit on. Even the date and time will be retained.
