Redcording Heart rate from another heart rate monitor

This morning I rode into work and forgot my HR monitor at home.
I noticed after uploading to Strava, that it was recording a HR from a mates HR monitor.

Should this happen? I thought once it was paired it shouldn't get interference from another user?

I'm very surprised by this. Your HR code should be "locked" in to your own strap.

Do you use your iBike HR strap? Has it worked for you previously?

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I use the HR strap almost every other ride and seems to work fine.
I use a Garmin ANT+ HR strap, my mates HR monitor is also a Garmin.

I will see if I can reproduce this issue, I'm only guessing that the interference is coming from the other HR strap.
The reason I think it's his HR strap, you will notice the first 20mins of the ride there was no HR at all, this is where I was riding solo to meet up with him.
