Positive cadence and speed, power=0

I just completed 3 days of 100+ per day away from a computer. Before the ride I reset sampling rate to 5 sec. As luck woud have it it got very cold and during the second day (40 miles away from a battery) the battery which checked out "good" before the ride started to fail and the screen actually went dim. When I got back to my car I replaced the battery. On the last leg, the cadence and speed showed positive numbers, but power stayed at zero. Both the wind and the tilt appeared to be accurate for the terrain I was on, but no power appeared on the screen. There was chaos when I was finally able to download the data as watts appeared in the file but they were outlandish. The elevation window was particularly abnormal with many enormous, but phantom drops showing but no other elevation detail. Cadnce and speed appeared normal? There as no rain. Any help?
