I've got a Gen iii iPro that's about six months old. The display is getting very sick. The seven-segment LCD sometimes doesn't turn off when it's supposed to be off, and some segments are not fully ON. It's quite hard to read.
I've seen this in other devices for low battery, so I replaced the battery, despite the "good" indication on self-test. No luck. Replacement battery sags from 3.0? to 2.89 V and display seems to get clearer at lower voltage?
I was really impressed with the clarity of the display on this unit, but I'm now finding it almost impossible to read. Do I need to file this as a warrantee problem?

Display failure?
Re: Display failure?
I've seen this effect when I rode in the rain. Since the display slowly cleared up over the following 4-5 days, I suspect I simply sweated enough to get some moisture inside the unit. I can't say I'm looking forward to the effects of salt-water on the internal circuitry.
Re: Display failure?
If you get the unit wet from riding in the rain, what you can do is leave it sitting out in the sunlight with the battery cover off and let it completely dry out. More than likely there is some left over moisture inside the unit and that is effecting the display.
If the unit doesn't come on or if the display still remains unreadable, then that would probably be a warranty issue.
