Re: Migrating from defunct iBike Newton to Wahoo Bolt and beyond
Wahoo Bolt doesn't tell one how to download their work outs. They appear to get copied to their Android 'ELEMNT' app by Bluetooth, but from there it seems the only way one can save them is to share them with another app, and Isaac isn't one of those listed? This doesn't appear to be limited to their...

Migrating from defunct iBike Newton to Wahoo Bolt and beyond
I don't really understand the interconnections needed to use the Ibike Newton replacement, ie, Powerpod or Aeropod. It was so very much more straight forward with just a single device to do the sensing, algorithic calulations, display and subsequent dowload to the associated Winows based Issac. So, ...

Re: What is AeroPod where does it inthe whole scheme of things?
Don't take me the wrong way. Thank you for the expanded description of Aeropod. You say that using an accelerometer improves the accuracy of power measurement. What does that mean? What inadequacy of other power measurement is being improved? Is my jigsaw analogy appropriate? That Aeropod is just on...

What does the AeroPod add to your PowerPod?

What is AeroPod where does it inthe whole scheme of things?
I’m a cyclist not an aeronautics engineer. My first Velocomp product was a bike computer called an ‘ibike’. It used innovative technology and algorithms to determine ‘power’, eg, CdA and Crr. A few years later I upgraded to an ‘ibike Newton’, it too was a “bike computer” using the same type of techn...

Re: Upgrading from Newton to Aeropod, & Wahoo TICKR
I'm still unclear about replacing my Newton, which is an ANT bike computer, that displays Cda, Wind, slope (not sure about time advantage)
Are you saying that, inorder to replace my Velocomp Newton bike computer, I have to buy a different brand of bike computer first?

Re: Upgrading from Newton to Aeropod, & Wahoo TICKR
Point taken regarding audio vs visual feedback. I hadn't considered audio, not sure I really understand how you achieve it and the equipment required. I have just taken it for granted that visual data presentation was the norm. So, haven't really thought through what data I want, how and when. This ...

Re: Upgrading from Newton to Aeropod, & Wahoo TICKR
Thank you EHB for your thorough feedback regarding the Tickr, appreciated, I'll certainly check out the 4iiii Viiiiva. :) Maybe John Hamann can provide some feedback about the latter HR monitor with Aeropod. I can't imagine that Velocomp envisaged users not having any real time display mechanism. So...

Upgrading from Newton to Aeropod, & Wahoo TICKR
I have had an ibike newton for years, got my first one in 2011. It fits onto a bracket on my stem, very neat, central, combined cadence/speed sensor on frame. Of course the Newton displays the real time data on its screen. Assuming I upgrade to the Aeropod, what else do I need fitted to my bike? The...

Re: Installing Isaac on a new computer
Thank you. I have all the files. But I don't know what the files that I need to move/copy are called. I have had to reinstall Isaac and it therefore sets up the profiles, settings, etc as if if this is completely new user. My data files of previous rides, isn't an issue, they can be read by the new ...

Installing Isaac on a new computer
Have replaced my computer so need to install and setup isaac. Previous system was Windows 7, new one Windows 10.
How do I get access to my previous setup files, eg, profile, licensing, etc. I assume I need to move or copy some old files.

Newton Screen frozen
My Newton screen, FW 5.09, has frozen showing 'trnr' 'on' can change it to 'off', can get 'lap' to show when pressing Total, but otherwise nothing happens. Have left it for 30 mins connected to PC, and unconnected the screen doesn't change. Had just completed a 20 min Functional threshold test on my...

Time and Date resetting itself
Every time I connect my Newton to my PC to download my ride data or to recharge its battery. The date and time seem to reset themselves to some totally arbitrary date and time! As the data files are named based on date, this really p..... me off. If one needs to reset date and time every time you co...

Loading F/W upgrade key
I have purchased the upgrade to 5.0 upgrade. Received 12 separate attachments for the instructions, each sentence and screen print separately - that was bizarre enough. Having pieced them together. Para 2 of the instructions say: 2) Load your FW 5.0 unlock key into your Newton. Your key is attached ...

Battery not holding a charge for long
Can the iBike Newton battery be replaced? I'm finding that it isn't holding its charge very long. Being holiday period I haven't ridden as regularly as usual, and am finding that has discharged in a week of no use from a full 100% to zero! Postage to and from Australia to the USA for every issue is ...

Although it is disappointing that the Isaac colours can't be changed, (maybe something for a future release??), I appreciate the helpful comments about photoshop and alternatives.

Printing - removing black background
I view my isaac data nearly always online. Recently I have a leg injury issue, and am doing some leg strengthening, ie, single leg drills. So I wanted to print my ride data to give to my physio. However, the black background just about obliterates all the coloured lines, apart from using lots of bla...

Wireless Failure after battery change
This seems to be a common problem? But the solutions seem random and vague! A week ago I got a Bad battery test message, so changed the iBike battery. Since then I get randon Wireless failures. I say random as I can't find a pattern. Sometimes the auto scan at the start finds Cad, Hr and spd; someti...

Re: Coast Down - default settings
Thanks Russ.
The link made some sense.
I have Conti 4000 Chilli tyres on Velocity wheels, riding on the hoods. Switching from Crr Fixed at 0055, to 'adjusted' altered the CDA and Crr settings to more reasonable figures of .349 and .37 respectively.
Thanks

Re: Coast Down - default settings
I should have phrased my previous post as a question:-
Are there different frictional settings for different road surfaces? What conditions does the default 0.0055 setting model? Eg is this for the smoothest tarmac, with perfect tyres, on a deep rim wheel, with ceramic bearings?

Having a lot of fun setting iBike up!! Living on the coast, finding a wind free day on an ideal road has taken a while to achieve, but the practice on the less suitable days, meant that when the opportuntiy to do the real run, it was very easy! Cleared the memory, did the Cal Ride followed by a doze...

AUTO CAL WIND - ABORT
4 out a 5 times when I wake up my ibike the battery test is 'good', but the Auto Cal Wind 'Abort'. I have tried cupping my gloved hand in different ways, also plugging the hole by using my ungloved finger across the hole to ensure total closure, but these don't seem to make a difference. Hate these ...
