Re: Isaac crashes on new Mac Powerbook Pro
In my case, the instructions that I got sent to remove some old settings files did not help. What DID help was looking at the crash report and seeing that Isaac received a SIGABRT while trying to load dynamic libraries. I saw /Library/Frameworks/nipalu.framework in the report, so I went to /Library/...

Re: Isaac crashes on new Mac Powerbook Pro
I deleted the crash report because it won't do us any good... Isaac is running just fine on all our Macs with High Sierra. Likely there is a corrupted file in your (hidden) iBike folder. We will send you instructions privately to correct it. Hidden iBike folder? Please send me instructions, too, as...

Profile Selection
I have a Newton that does not allow me to get into the setup screen on the device (really annoying, btw, and a regression vs. my iAero), and I have separate profiles that I want to use on the same bike: 1) Commuter profile, road bike + rear rack + bag with panniers (and additional weight). 2) Regula...

Cold Weather Battery Hack
I know there used to be a way to hack a homebrew auxiliary set of batteries in parallel, to get longer life in cold weather, but I no longer see the link to the old topica forums where this was discussed. It's 42F, overcast, and windy here today, so it's relevant. I have an iAero (not Gen III) with ...

Re: Adjusting riding tilt in a profile
It is just the on-the-road power numbers that are at stake in this thread. If you are using the power reading to pace yourself or for doing intervals, then the effort to debug big problems with the tilt is worth it; however, if you are like me and primarily analyze your power numbers after the ride...

iBike already supports perhaps the best UNIX out there: Mac OS X.
Get with the program.

Re: Mac and iAero Won't Speak to Each Other
The replacement cable solved the "can't talk to the iAero" problem.
I am very, very pleased with the way you stand behind your product!
Thanks!

Always, always, always export your profiles. If something does go wrong, then it is simple to re-import them.

Re: Issue with Ibike Pro to Computer Connection
FYI to everyone: it was a defective USB adapter. Sometimes these things happen... I wonder if this might be my problem. (See http://www.ibikeforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=352, "Mac and iAero Won't Speak to Each Other") If it is, then I need to send Travis some sort of peace offering ...

Distance Axis?
The analysis software shows power, speed/wind, relative altitude (to the start), and slope, with the x-axis being time. Is it possible to add a distance axis below the time? I know where in my rides the hills are, but not really *when*.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Mac and iAero Won't Speak to Each Other
Well, I'm still stuck in limbo-land. Every once in awhile, my PowerBook will speak with my iAero, but most of the time, it won't. (PowerBook G4, 1.67GHz, 2GB RAM, OS X Leopard, 10.5.4). To see if it was just something goofy with that machine, I installed the USB drivers and the iBike software on the...

Re: Mac and iAero Won't Speak to Each Other
I solved this problem accidentally, just now. I connected to the VPN at work, and got a dialog about a new network interface--the iAero's USB-to-serial adapter. I set up a null configuration for it in Network Preferences, and now the iAero works.
I guess the USB driver does not auto-load.

Mac and iAero Won't Speak to Each Other
I have an iAero (FW 1.30) and the 2.0.7 iBike2Mac application, with the latest USB driver installed, on a G4 PowerBook running OS X Leopard, 10.5.3. I cannot get the Mac to talk to the iAero, no way, no how. The adapter is plugged directly into the USB port, the iAero is mounted and turned on, and I...

Re: power meter cuts out during ride
My iAero cut out during a ride a few days ago. It had been raining very hard, and the iAero kept recording through the heavy rain, but when it ended, I guess road spray from the front wheel finished the job--it stopped working until I dried the water from the contacts. I do not have a cadence sensor...

Re: The usual Calorie question
I have a Garmin 205 and an iBike. The Garmin guesstimates calories burned pretty much on-par with the table that was published in Bicycling magazine a few years back--it's a simple table of speed and calories/minute per pound of rider weight, with an added term for calories per 100 feet of climbing ...

Re: Spoke Magnet Sliding
I use the Cateye magnets, which will work on either flat or round spokes. They're nice, low-profile magnets.
I put a drop of blue loctite on the magnet and screw it down nice and tight against the backing piece (there's a "v" in the round-spoke side; the other side is flat).

No Wind Measurements
I just got an iBike Pro as a five-year service gift from work, and I was very excited to try it out, but I am getting no wind data whatsoever. I've followed the wind offset directions. I've done coastdowns and a 4-mile out-and-back ride. I can point my bike directly into the wind, and right-arrow fo...
