Re: Pairing PowerPod with DFPM for cadence data
For PowerStroke you need a separate, crank-mounted cadence sensor. Cadence data added after the ride won't work. Thanks John. I was wondering what is the best setting to use in my profile for Candence sensor in Power Stroke? Screenshot 2020-11-14 175252.jpg I am using the Garmin magnetless candence...

Re: Very low wattage numbers
Yesterday I did this ride. It was 100% out and back. I had not used the PP for a while, but now I am trying to get it set up so that it closely correlates to my DFPM (4iiii). In the attached file my PP readings are far lower than the DFPM. By very low, I mean approximately 40 watts difference betwe...

Re: Pairing PowerPod with DFPM for cadence data
What kind of cadence sensor are you using? I used to have Garmin crank based unit without a magnet. It was still paired but not active on that ride. I removed the Garmin crank based cadence sensor as this is now covered by the 4iiii device. The raw ride data didn't have a cadence signal recorded. Wh...

Re: Pairing PowerPod with DFPM for cadence data
Thanks John, I'll use these settings. Yes the short TT was a little segment chasing. You are correct I did change my position and tuck down onto the drops on the return leg. I agree I appeared to get more power, but I would say I increased speed with the same power by reducing drag. I agree PP would...

Re: Pairing PowerPod with DFPM for cadence data
Here are some of the Calibration files I have been using. I just didn't trust the results and was changing the calibration files. I have set the combined ride file using a raw calibration file, "Original Calibration Ride 22_07_2019" and it seems to better match the 4iii data. See attached ...

Re: Pairing PowerPod with DFPM for cadence data
I’m a little confused. I wasn’t confident of the powerpod calibration so I have purchased a 4iiii left side crank power meter. I’ve competed one ride and can see that the DFPM results are significantly lower than PP and in fact on a short TT section on my ride with an out and back length of approx 2...

Unless you want to get the DFPM add-on, your workaround will need to do the trick...
What is the DFPM add-on you mentioned in your comment?

Re: calibration check
Post a longer ride file when you have it. I did a 50 km ride today. We had some rider issues so I have 3 files. I have also combined my garmin file for you. The head unit had some troubles. We stopped twice and the head unit didn't pick up the power meter when I started again. PLease have a look. I...

Re: calibration check
Thanks for checking. I’m glad it all seems ok. I also ride a kickr indoors. I’m struggling to “calibrate” the power reading with the “effort” outdoors. Outdoor power seems to be higher power recorded for a perceived effort. It could be all in my mind. I have done a spin down on the kickr. I can send...

calibration check
Hi,
I have completed a calibration ride and I'm not confident in the out come.
Can someone check the file please?

Re: Battery Charge
Thanks,
I'm sure that I didn't press the power button when charging.
I might have messed up the pairing with my head unit and accidently forced a calc ride to start.
Cheers

Re: Battery Charge
Hi,
I have a powerpod v3 purchased in April 2019.
I’ve noticed that when I charge the unit using a power outlet the unit is set to recalibrate.
Is this normal?
I would prefer it not to be in recalibrate mode. Can this be changed?
When I charge through PC USB port this doesn’t happen.

Re: Charge during the ride?
Thanks for the reply. To confirm the unit was connected to the PC and the red light had stopped flashing. In fact i did leave the unit attached for several hours to be sure the unit was charged. I not your procedure for connecting the external power. You say the unit wont transmit ble but will trans...

Re: Charge during the ride?
Hi, I’ve recently brought powerpod v3. I like the unit and fascinated with the science. This week I only got 1 hour of battery life before the recording stopped. I rode less than 7 days ago and downloaded that ride through PC. The unit would have been fully charged and been stored for less than 4 da...
