Hi,
I have just bought a PowerPod and I think i have configured it properly (configuration ride and I have set my weight, bike weight, tyre size in my profile using Isaac and my height, premium tyres & PSI, using the O&B calibration) and also made sure the pod is installed with the "PowerPod" logo parallel to the ground and nothing obstructing the air inlet.
I am about to go on a first proper long ride using it tomorrow (4 hours / 80miles), where hopefully it will be accurate enough for me to use to stay in Zone.
I did the calibration though using by Reynolds Assault 42mm deep wheels and I was thinking of switching to my 62mm deep Reynolds Strikes for tomorrows ride, but its just occurred to me that that might screw up the power readings as I'll be 'more aero'.
Is this something I need to worry about when switching wheels?
Cheers
Impact of swappingw wheels around (42mm > 62mm)
Re: Impact of swappingw wheels around (42mm > 62mm)
I think you'll be ok if you swap wheels. Changing them will not have an effect on the O&B calibration parameters.
Please post a ride afterwards!

Hi John,
Thanks for your reply. I did the planned ride yesterday. All good I think, though I did have to do a 'hard' reset of the PP as my Garmin would not 'find' it and it was the only thing I could think to do. So the first part of the ride was a new calibration.
I've attached the ride file. Would be great if you could have a look and let me know if the calibration looks alright?
I have DPS turned on and viewed power used the un-averaged power view on my Garmin, as I've seen recommended on here. Have to say the power reading fluctuates a lot more than I'm used to with my DSPM (Stages) I use on my other bike, so found it quite hard to use to gauge my effort and be confident of the zone I was in at any given moment. Worked more as an idea when combined with RPE and my HR zone.
Is there anything i can do about that?
Thanks for your help,
Paul
