Climbing Accuracy Question

Post by lspringett »

Hi,

I have done quite a few Out and Back rides with velocomp adjusting my profile so that all appears fine.

When riding on flats the watts seem comparable to other PM i've ridden with/trainer/wattbike, etc.

However when I go up hills the number seem to jump quite quickly and well over my FTP for and hold for quite a while which I would struggle with on a flat.

I know there is an affect on power by gradient and when I run the file through WKO4 elevation adjusted power charts the numbers seem OK but jist wondering other experiences?

Thanks

Please post a ride file. Your device should be dead-on when climbing hills.

Hi, managed to finally get from powerpod.

Powerpod also seems to have hard reset itself so the date on the file is wrong but the correct profile is loaded (one you calibrated for me)

Cheers

The only thing I see problematic in your file is the first 8 minutes, where PP is recalibrating itself.

Other than that things seem fine; the two climbs you do are well within your 254W FTP.
