Powerpod V3 firmware upgrade

Post by gpdlt »

I'm about to purchase an used Powerpod V3 and previous to that I would like to know if it can be upgraded to latest 8.01 fw version, is this possible to apply to any PP V3?
Thanks,
Gustavo.

Yes, any PP can be upgraded to latest FW from our Isaac app.

Any news on plans to make the Isaac software compatible with the newest MacOS and Apple silicon?

Unfortunately this is out of our hands. Two, multi-billion dollar corporations, National Instruments and Silicon Labs, need to upgrade their drivers. Until they do we are unable to do anything.

The best you can hope for right now is that Parallels and/or VMWare Fusion running on Apple Silicon can support older Mac OS version - Catalina and so on. There you can run Isaac in all its glory until software brings capability.

It really is no different for the Microsoft side in the near future - Windows 11 will not run on a number of current systems - and even the virtual world of VMWare and Parallels will face challenges in supporting the upcoming Windows.

Just FYI - Isaac 5.1 (and the underlying Silicon Labs drivers) works fine on Win11. Silicon Labs surprisingly started keeping those updated via Windows Update about a year ago. Not had any issues so far. (just for anyone that might think the above statement meant that Isaac 5.10 has issues on Win11 :D )
