Calibration check, please

Post by kilosub »

Hi,

Started back cycling after taking a long break and accidently reset the profile. Redo the cal ride couple times. I assume I manage to successfully did it.. :)

BTW, there's no longer Cal Ride file created, right? I check through the forum here.. some do have cal ride and some don't. On this attachment im not able to view my power stroke, how can i fix it?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Norman

Your calibration is fine but your speed sensor is misbehaving (dropouts).

What kind of sensor do you have? If it's a hub sensor please put it on the front hub.

Also, it looks like your PP is rotating in its mount. Make sure it is tightened so that it cannot rotate in the mount.

Hi.

Thanks for pointing out things need to be corrected at my end.

Just done a ride with hub senor being move to the front. I'm using garmin sensor.

As for the mount, I'm using Giant Computer/GoPro mount and i've tightened to secure the pod.

Another thing I found on this ride, on descent the pod giving Power reading without pedaling and I also did test with pedal without any load.

Why is the pedal stroke not working. All the while it was running well. I've purchase the licence/feature.

Many thanks again.

Cheers,

Norman

Speed data looks good now, and it looks like your PP is tightly attached to its mount.

There is no cadence sensor ID in your profile. For PowerStroke you need a crank-mounted cadence sensor. If you do have a cadence sensor on your bike, then you'll need to do a new pairing and, likely, a cal ride.

You are descending some pretty steep hills--as much as -10%. If there is ANY change in your ride position on these descents, you will see false watts.

Assuming that you have a cadence sensor on your bike, whenever you're not pedaling you won't have any downhill watts problems (if you are pedaling on a -10% hill you are very brave...). :-)

Hi John,

UPDATE:
Please omit first two paragraphs, I think I've solve it. Going to do another cal ride early in the morning later.

I've remove and made new pairing on my garmin watch. Also did cal ride, seems the cadence sensor not being pick up by the pod. I've also replace new battery to the cadence sensor before i did as per your recommendation. Any other remedy for this?

Earlier days setup, I'm using both Garmin watch and Bryton 310 to record my ride and pedal stroke was fine. Which till today I still use both device to record my ride. Only thing not sure what went wrong this time around...

As per descending, I was in tuck-in position...aero all the way.. 😁, oddly pod assume im crunching out 200w 😒 but I do occasionally spin very lightly

Many thanks again tending my problem...

Cheers,
Norman

Hi John,

My bad, after going thru both Garmin watch and Bryton Computer unit. Found that the PP pick up the cadence and speed sensor via Bryton unit. I myself find it pretty weird. Attached are photos of Isaac, Garmin and Bryton cadence, speed and power sensor ID.

"Also, it looks like your PP is rotating in its mount. Make sure it is tightened so that it cannot rotate in the mount."
May I know how do you know that the PP is not tightened enough so that I could detect it in future...😃

Finally, Can you help confirm that my cal ride is good to go...

Thanks and cheers,

Norman

Hi John,

My ride on July 5th looks good, while descending the PP not giving out whopping 200w/false watts but with acceptable very low false watts. I'm using the same route to. Very happy with it... Thanks John

Strangely I'm not able to download today's ride and I also fail to charge the PP via power outlet. Is my PP usb port died? 😢. When wake the PP flashing Green light is up. What remedy can I do from my end?

Thanks again.

Cheers,
Norman

Press-hold PP button for about 12 seconds to hard reset it. Light will go out temporarily then turn back on. Release the button. Hopefully that will fix things. After hard reset try downloading your ride again. Your latest ride might have an incorrect date on it.
