Fine tuning of PowerPod

Post by thomask »

Hi,

I made some changes based on input received from tech support. Attached is my latest ride file. Do I need to make any fine tuning?

Appreciate your help and your time!
Ken

Sorry for this second post. Since I did not hear from you in awhile, I thought I might make a new post.....

Thank you, John! Appreciate your patience in answering all of our questions!

I am attaching two ride files for your input. Both are same routes with the same starting and ending points. However, one (iBike_12_28_2016_1210_31_Miles.ibr) I believe as per your feedback from last time looks good. The other one is the most recent (iBike_01_01_2017_1314_31_Miles.ibr) and I am not sure what to make out of it as the power data (graph) seems to be more flat for vast majority of the ride. Both are based on the same Cateye Speed and Cadence sensors.

Are you still suspecting this is happening due to speed drops issues or is there something else going on?

Thanks again for your time!

You're still getting a LOT of speed dropouts.

I would change speed sensor to a front wheel Garmin or Wahoo sensor.

The reason your watts look flat is because of the first 8 minutes, where PP is recalibrating itself and watts are ridiculously high.

I edited out the first 8 minutes and what remains looks quite normal.

Thank you, John.

Sorry for the dumb question....But how did you edit out the first 8 minutes of the ride? So, I'll know how to do it in the future...

Place your cursor at the 8 minute mark.

Then, use the command "File/Split File at Cursor". Keep the second part of the ride file!
