indoor trainer with wired ibike pro

Post by Bike4Him »

I am upgrading to a pro from iSport.
It is wired.
Would it work to buy another wired mount and use a wired version with an indoor trainer.
Speed sensor on the back wheel and the mount on top tube or somewhere.
I realize I would have to purchase the trainer key.

And. Does the trainer key work with rollers?

If this info has been discussed before please send me to the proper thread.

Thanks

Assuming you're using a different bike for the rollers, then yes, a separate wired mount makes sense. Although I'm not sure if they're still available. Check the store or send velocomp an email. If all else fails, I might have one which I used once or twice before going wireless.

The trainer key will work with rollers. Look in the iBike software for a match to your rollers.

Thank you for the reply. I've sent an e-mail via the website but it comes back non-deliverable.
There are none available in the store.

If you find an extra mount let me know.

If your brave, careful and handy with a soldering iron you can extend the sensor cable so you can still mount it on the bars or stem. I had an old cheap cateye computer lying around and the cable used was identical.

A friend offered to install a removable wire coming from the existing wire. This way I can install a temporary sensor to the back for trainer use.
Thanks for the idea.
