USE of external 5v power pack

Post by crwheelr »

Hi John,

I'm thinking to connect a 5v lithium battery pack to Aeropod to extend its run time. Connect via the microUSB.
Do you see any issue with that?

thanks

Give it a try...it might be that, when the USB port is being used, that sensor pairing may not work.

A fully charged battery should be good for 20 hours of riding...

I mainly have the external battery for Garman edge 520, but figured why not connect the Aeropod as well. I'll report back on the functionallity.

an update,

all aeropod functionality is maintained by having an external 5V battery pack plugged in. I have had about 30 riding hours with this configuration without issue. just fyi, below are the links to the two additions to my ride. I use 2 mini bungee style hooked straps to hold the battery to the upper frame right behind the steerer tube.
