Question about headwind

Post by BillOsler »

I understand from another thread that the wind speed reported by Aeropod is the apparent wind speed opposite of the direction of travel, ie: apparent headwind.
I have been trying to correlate results from Aeropod with results from Golden Cheetah's Aerolab and have encountered some odd results.
I have also noted that the wind speed reported by my Kestrel device does not necessarily match the wind speed reported by Aeropod.
Does this mean that the wind speed reported by Aeropod to the ConnectIQ app and recorded in the ibr file and CSV file are averaged/smoothed over some time frame? If so is the reported speed averaged over a specific number of seconds?

Wind speed measurements are not averaged.
