CdA low

Post by TuRu00 »

Hello!

Today i made a cal ride with Garmin working properly to measure cda (bike profile 4). Just to test if things are working. It is a road bike and Aeropod is mounted on handlebar (8,5Kg with water). Normal position, on the hoods. Results are not as expected because my calculated cda is 0.205. Ready to beat Castroviejo.

The thing is that when i was climbing cda went down (close to 0.17) and on the drop position went slowly up, 0.3 the top (more or less).

I guess that with another cal ride things will become normal, but.. do i miss something for the next time? I am going to make a test in velodrome and i need everything as clear as possible.

The more representative lap is 5, on the drops while cal ride was made on the hoods.

Files attached.

Thanks.

I looked at your 9km ride.

There are multiple problems:

1) Your path has a lot of hills, with pedaling and coasting. This is not a good way for CdA testing.

2) You need to find a place where you can have longer stretches of continuous pedaling. Your pedaling intervals are only about 90 seconds long--way too short to gather CdA information

3) Your average power for the ride is only 107W. This is really low for CdA testing

4) Your AP needs a firmware update. Please email me at jhamann@velocomp.com for FW

You are right about the path, but it was my first attempt. Just to know if everything is working fine. Next time I will try on velodrome.
