My apologies if this is addressed elsewhere but I couldn't find it in the operating instructions or in a quick search of this forum.
I am using the AeroPod as a tool to calculate my aerodynamics - as such I have a DFPM as well as the AeroPod setup on my bike. My head-unit will only receive data from a single power-meter at a time - which, when using the AeroPod, must be the AeroPod.
This means that the data flow will be something like:
PowerTap P1 (DFPM)->AeroPod->Garmin 820
In parallel, and unrelated to my question - there will also be a data flow of Speed Sensor->Aeropod->Garmin 820
Assuming the above is correct - my question is - when I see power displayed on my head-unit with this setup will the AeroPod be passing along the power measurements from the DFPM or will it be using its own values?
If the AeroPod is passing along the PowerTap values will it include L/R balance and other pedal based metrics?

Re: Power meter selection on headunit
AeroPod re-transmits the power values from your DFPM.
AP does not include L/R balance metrics.

Re: Power meter selection on headunit
Thanks - this is as I assumed, but figured I should check
Re: Power meter selection on headunit
Once the Aeropod is paired is there any reason the Garmin could not be switched back to pair directly with the P1s so the other data would be available in the FIT file?
I don't know what would do to the performance of the Connect IQ app.

Re: Power meter selection on headunit
Frankly, I'm not sure what would happen...I would give it a try. Let us know!
