Lap trigger/signal

Post by antevens »

Is there any way to signal/trigger laps using Bluetooth LTE or Ant+ to the AeroPod?

The reason I'm asking is that I'm hoping to retire my Wahoo Elemnt from my track bike and start recording data with my AeroPod only but that would leave me without a way to time my laps.

If this is somehow possible I'd also be able to use an automated timing circuit which would make my coach(es) very happy ;)

If you pair AP to your Garmin and install our Connect IQ app, then when you hit the lap marker on your Garmin, a lap marker will be placed in the AP file.

This works only on ANT+

So currently the only way would be to replace the Wahoo with a Garmin?

At present, yes. I think there will soon be a standard for CdA, and hopefully Wahoo will implement it. Until they do, Garmin or Raptor is it.

Thanks for the update, in case you ever run out of feature ideas (which never happens) some way integrating an external lap trigger/signal would be very useful for us track folk.
