New firmware 8.03 is available for PowerPod and AeroPod. There are a couple of nice additions:

1) Improved pairing process between AeroPod and bike computers having both ANT+ and BLE options. Out-of-box setup (new profile): AP does not transmit its ANT/BLE signal until after sensor scan has started; then, ANT+ and BLE power transmission starts immediately. After sensor scan has been completed, whenever AP is turned on, AP transmits BLE and ANT power signals immediately.

2) New feature: AP now transmits/records power data at very low speeds, whenever bike speed is greater than 4KM/h (2.3 mph), and when bike cadence is >30. Low speed power recording requires a separate cadence sensor, paired to AP. If no cadence sensor is detected, the low speed power recording feature is not enabled. This feature is particularly useful for off-road bikes ascending steep hills at low speeds.

This firmware is available from Isaac,"Device/Check Online for Firmware Update". If you use this command and the 8.03 update is not made available to you for download, then your particular unit is not compatible with the firmware update. This would apply to older models of PowerPod and to Newtons.

John, is this the same as the beta FW released a few weeks back? Should I upgrade from that?
Thanks

Hi to all,

I was just updated to FW 9.0, so I came here to see what is all about, but I believe it is so new as I see no notice of that :-)
