Pitot Tube broken

Post by Rembert »

Hey there

How do you guys remove a broken pitot tube from the PP? It broke right above the thread. Gluing e.g. a chopstick to the pitot bit in the PP to be able and wind it out?

As I am on vacation right now: What would I expect from the readings now that the pitot tube is gone? Will the PP recalibrate itself and give meaningful data (except for crosswinds)?

Cheers

You can remove the pitot tube by inserting a screwdriver (I use a phillips head) into the tube so that it engages the broken tube. Don't push too hard. Then, turn the screwdriver counterclockwise to remove the broken part.

If you do a new cal ride your unit will work without the pitot tube.
