Elliptigo and Strava

Post by LosAltos »

I ride an Elliptigo and use Strava on a iphone with a Wahoo heart monitor. In order to use the powerpod do I need to add both a cadence and speed sensor or can it take the speed from Strava on my phone? Will the power meter data display in Strava in real time?
What else do I need for this to work? Thanks,
Dan

You don't need a cadence sensor, but you DO need an ANT+ speed sensor, attached to your front wheel. You will use Isaac to set the correct wheel circumference of your Elliptigo wheel.

PowerPod will attach to your handlebars; make sure it can't rotate on the bars.

I'm not sure if Strava will function, but if you use the Velocomp app (iOS or Android), you will be able to get your speed, distance, and power information in real-time.

Many years ago we did some testing with an Elliptigo; it is a very nice application for PowerPod and it works quite well. If you proceed please post a ride file!

Thanks. I just noticed the powerpod is sold out on your website. Any idea when it will be in stock?

Not certain about PP availability. AeroPod is available now, and also functions as a power meter.
