Calibration Ride - Didn't Go as Described but Seemed to Complete

I followed the instructions for the calibration ride, but when it hit 50 on my Garmin, it didn't turn red and need a button press. It just kept going as I turned around and got to 100 very close to where I started. After that, it displayed power data as I rode back home.
When I got back, I plugged it in, and it had a new ride, but it was a short ride (only 4 minutes / 1 mile) which looks like my ride after calibration completed. I've attached it to this post.
Bike is Trek Checkpoint, which is fairly upright. Not sure if that effects the calibration.
