AeroPod, PowerPod and Newton

I ran into this a few times now. Since I did most of my outdoor rides over the weekends, I often forget to charge the powerpod and days later the battery is drained when I tried to ride. However after charging and turning it on, the powerpod jumped into the calibration ride mode directly, which is quite annoying. Is this the expected behavior or did I do something wrong?

No, PP does not automatically go into cal mode when the battery is charged.

PP goes into cal ride mode when its button is press-held for 4 seconds.

When you turn the unit on, click the button and release it immediately.
