Why did my PowerPod ride file mysteriously split in two?

Post by Velocomp »

I did a ride today. When I downloaded it afterwards it was mysteriously split into two parts, even though I never touched my PowerPod during the entire ride!

Now, ride files are split when there is a long rest break, but today I never stopped riding...so why did my ride file split?

The answer is...my PowerPod battery was low on charge (below 20%)!

When battery charge is low, PowerPod (and AeroPod too) automatically saves its ride data every 20 minutes. This action preserves in ride memory as much of the ride's data as possible, even if the battery should ultimately die during the ride. If this 20-minute-save action did not exist, and the battery died, then ALL ride data for the ENTIRE ride would be lost.

After downloading both rides to Isaac, I merged them together into one ride file using the "File/Combine-Split..." command.
