AeroPod, PowerPod and Newton

Does the length of the pitot tube make much difference to performance? Always thought the Pitot tube on the V3 seems quite long especially compared to the early shots of the AeroPod. What was the reason for making it longer?

The early shots were engineering renderings.

We lengthened the pitot tube for production because a longer tube does a better job of getting clean air.
