Slope issue at start of a ride

Post by miichall »

At the beginning of a ride I have wrong slope readings for about 90 seconds. Sometimes it starts from -20% and I get 0W and sometimes starts from +20% and at effort of around 150-250W I get +1000W readings.
In a case of attached ride bike was stationary for 20+ minutes outside after the previous ride and PowerPod was not moved.
At the end of previous ride calculated power in Golden Cheetach and readings from PowerPod were close together. In attached one I was drafting as the readings settled.
I have used a part of a ride from January for calibration but I don't remember which one. Any idea what to do?

What's happening is that your PP is being attached at different angles. When its mounting angle changes, PP takes about 90 seconds to auto-correct.

Make sure your PP is firmly attached and cannot rotate.

Ok, solved it. It seems like PP has moved since first calibration so it had to adjust slope each time I have started a ride. I have done a calibration ride recently as I have readjusted handlebars position and it is ok now.
