PP not pairing after fireware update?

Hi,
I seem to be having a few issues with my PP. Recently its been very hit and miss pairing with my Garmin and today would not recognise my cadence and speed sensors or my garmin so I tried to pair, holding button for 4 seconds, but it would not recognise my sensors. The sensors are ok with working batteries and Ive tried to get the garmin to pair as its in the sensors already paired but nothing.
I've since updated the fireware as it signposted the update available when I charged the PP.
It seems every time I charge the PP it doesn't recognise sensors and has a blip!
I've had to do a Hard reset, holding the button down for 10 seconds to try and rectify these issues but still wont pair or recognise sensors.
Do I need to completely start a fresh?, ie Out and Back Calibration ride etc and set up new bike profiles, I have 2 road bikes on the PP.

Any help appreciated.

The firmware update would have zero effect on pairing.
