Pitot tube testing

I've had a few rides where the wind readings seem "off" - e.g. headwinds of the type where you have to pedal downhill to avoid decelerating, but reported as 3-5mph. Or tailwinds when there doesn't seem to be one.
It's not offset/consistent enough to be certain about, but it would be useful to have a wind sensor testing process.

Can I stick the bike on a turbo, make sure that the speed sensor is on the rear wheel & then ride at a steady speed for a bit & download the result? That seems to be to be a mimic for a blocked wind port (so the reported wind should be the opposite of my wheel speed).

Or could I block the port & try to ride on a short, flat, windless section & do the same thing?

Unfortunately your tests won't work. What's needed is "natural" wind to compare to bike speed.

The best thing to do is a short out and back ride. Post the results here.
