Need some help with powerpod
Re: Need some help with powerpod
John I tried it again today and it just seems that sometimes when I am really going hard, the watts are quite low and other times higher than should be. I am sorry to trouble you. Thanks as always

Re: Need some help with powerpod
oops try again
Re: Need some help with powerpod
My windport is clear of any cables and not obstructed as best I can tell.
Re: Need some help with powerpod
Not sure if this of some help but riding with a friend today who had garmin pedals. He is usually pretty close to me in power when we have compared the two in the past. In fact, he was really impressed by how close. Today it seemed like I was substantially off. I only remembered asking him on hills but he was usually 75 to 100 watts more, when we were going at the same pace. I am trying not to be OCD about it, just I try to use it as a guide to exerting myself going up hills and it is now all over the place, anywhere from 0 to really high on a steady climb. Thanks again. Happy to upload any rides if would clarify. If you think it is a lost cause let me know to and I can figure out the options (such as the aeropod).
Re: Need some help with powerpod
Not sure why I broke them up but here are todays.
Re: Need some help with powerpod
I don't see any obvious problems. You have a fair amount of tailwinds, maybe a bit too much, but I can't tell from this ride file if that is true, or simply a consequence of your wind conditions.
You can do a short out-and-back and post that. I will be able to tell for certain then.

Re: Need some help with powerpod
It is true, it is very windy around here. I will do a simple out and back and get it back to you. Thanks
Re: Need some help with powerpod
Sorry work keeps getting in the way. I put in two sessions, both parts of an out and back. Sorry just haven't had much time to ride a simple 5 km ride. If this is not helpful I will get in a short 10 minute ride on relatively flat ground.
Re: Need some help with powerpod
Thats great. Thanks again for all the help. I will give thought to the aeropod when it becomes available. It functions as a powermeter as well, I understand.
Re: Need some help with powerpod
John
The powerpod has been working fine. I see that the aeropod is now out and a trade in is possible. I apologize if I seem daft but the aeropod functions as both a measure of aerodynamics and a power meter. I would not need a second power meter would I? Thanks and best of luck with the new product.

Re: Need some help with powerpod
AeroPod functions both as a power meter and, when used with a direct force power meter, as a CdA sensor.GGG58 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 03, 2018 8:06 pm John

As a power meter AeroPod is considerably different from PowerPod:
1) New sensors
2) Better battery life
3) Sleek design
And, of course, when used with a direct force power meter, AeroPod will report CdA, slope, wind speed and Time Advantage.
