Do I need to recharge the battery after every ride because it won't turn on after just one ride of a few (2-3) hours.

Then the lights are utterly confusing: while riding there is no led at all so the only info that it is working will be my power figures.

When PP is first turned on, its status light will show solid green (assuming speed sensor is awake). After a few seconds the light will go out, to conserve power.

After 20 minutes of zero speed, the unit will shut down completely.

You can check operation at any time by clicking the button; the light will show solid green.

It sounds like your PP may need a full charge. Plug it in; the light will flash red until the battery is fully charged. Then, the light will go out.
