New User Can't Get Going

Hi

Can any kind soul help me get set up.
I currently have a Power Meter already fitted on my bike - a Verve Infocrank.
This is all paired up and working with the Garmin 1000.

I am simply trying to setup my new PowerPod to my Garmin 800 on the same bike.
I have additional new Garmin speed and Cadence sensors on the bike.

I fully charged the Powerpod.
I successfully paired the new cadence and speed sensors to the PowerPod.

I woke up the speed and cadence sensors. Turned in the PowerPod and through a 50 km ride it simply blinked red and green. Throughout this effort, the Garmin 800 kept beeping saying 'multiple Power sensors detected' but I cannot select th Powerpod.
I've spent a couple of hours on this forum and one troubleshooting thread indicated that a quick press of the Powerpod button would make it turn orange to prompt the calibration test.
This indeed helped me to get the light to flash orange. However, it simply flashes orange.

Nothing is appearing on the Garmin 800 telling me to ride until I reach 100W.

I simply want o compare the rides and get to know the Powerpod so I can then mke adjustments for my TT bike and a cycling training camp next week.

Please help if you have any ideas on where I am going wrong.

Many thanks :?

When you have multiple power meters on your bike, things can be a bit trickier.

What has happened is that your PP is also paired to your DFPM. That's OK, but when a DFPM is paired to PowerPod, PP automatically goes in to Out and Back calibration mode (flashing red/green).

Here is where you can find instructions for the O&B ride:

http://www.ibikeforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=3852

To summarize very briefly the O&B instructions, when you start riding you should see your PP light go to flashing red/green. Ride to the place where you are going to start your calibration ride. Click the PP button; it will flash yellow, and watts will gradually climb to 50W (50% of completed O&B ride). At the 50W mark, the PP light will turn solid red (note: if you are on a steep hill at the 50W mark, the light may not show solid red, but instead go to flashing yellow. This is OK). In either case, slow down, STOP, then turn around. The light will go to flashing yellow, and watts will climb to 100 (100% complete). Then, watts will be normal.

You need to get your Garmin paired to PowerPod. I can't help you with this one...

Many thanks John for replying so quickly. It was your commitment to the DC Rainmaker post that encouraged me to buy the PowerPod.

Quick question - how do I identify the PowerPod's Ant+ ID to make sure I am connected to the right sensor?

Thank you

Here is how I would do it:

1) Make sure your PP is off (asleep for 20 minutes, or 100 ft away from your Garmin)

2) Fire up your DFPM and your Garmin

3) Do a power sensor pairing on your Garmin. You'll be able to get the DFPM sensor ID. Write it down

4) Now, fire up the PP and do another power sensor pairing. You'll be able to "see" the PP sensor ID.

Many thanks for your help - I'm back from my training camp and successfully set it up on a different bike and different sensors - the multiple sensors / garmins were too confusing for me, in the time I had available.
