Powerpod won't charge "comm error with device"

Hello,

My powerpod will not charge. I thought there was some other issue because at first I couldn't get it to stay on for a whole ride. Then I couldn't get it to power on at all. I connected it to Isaac in order to get a ride file but Isaac no longer "sees" it. For example, I tried to send a profile to the device and I receive the message "comm error with device."

Please help!

It should be a issue with the cable. There are 2 types of android micro usb cable. One does only charging (cheap ones) other do s both charging and data transfer. I used to get a comm error when I used to try connecting issac with my PP using cheap charging cable alone as Isaac will not be able to communicate with powerpod. You can also see the green USB tab in Isaac greyed out if it is not able to communicate. Then I started using cable that came with my PP or the cables that came with my phone which can do a data transfer too when I connect my PP to Isaac for data transfer and I stopped getting the comm error. So please try out with a micro usb data transfer cable

Drashkum: Thanks for the suggestion!
I had only used the cable which came with the powerpod - mostly because it is longer and I can connect without removing the unit from the bike :)
The unit was replaced by ibike and for awhile the new one charged just fine with the original cable (it did not arrive with a new cable).
Now I'm having the same problem with the replacement unit and I have tried other cables, no change.

Please contact technicalsupport@velocomp.com

If you've had two units and both have difficulties charging then the likely issue is your USB cable.
