Messed up calibration ride or problem with aero bar mount

Hello,
I am used PowerPod for a few weeks on my roadbike without any issues. Today, I mounted it on my TT bike, paired it with the sensors, and did the configuration ride. Since a mount expecting a tube or something like that does not work with my aero bars I am using a mount attached to the stem. The mount is pretty solid. I attach a photo of it.

However, the power data recorded for the ride itself is about 100W lower than expected. Looking at the configuration ride I think (and hope) I messed it up rather than there is something wrong with how I mounted the pod.

Could you have a look and (hopefully) confirm I messed up the calibration?

Thank you!

Guido

It might be worth posting a photo from the front so the PowerPod position compared to the bars is visible. From what I can see your Garmin/ Go pro mount is quite high and would put the air intake of the PowerPod at a point where you hands on the TT bars and the TT themselves bars are interfering with the airflow. This would mess up your data.

I would try and capture a pure out and back ride same road 5-10 mins ride, turn around come back. Then use that data for the calibration.

Have you seen the ”How to fine tune PowerPod power meter “ video, it's a really good guide to dialing in the PowerPod and helping to understand the metrics.

Thank you for the video link. So far I only applied to to my road bike but it worked very nicely.

I agree on you comment about the position of the mount. I attach a photo of the mounted PowerPod showing how much it extends below the aero bars. I would assume it is sufficient but have no real idea.

Thanks again,

Guido
