Garmin Edge 520 Plus nor pairing (maybe)

Hello John,

Hope your staying healthy .

Say, I just bought a new Garmin 520 Plus. Trying to pair to PP. When adding a sensor on the Garmin, I select Power Meter, it doesn't find the PP. But when add sensor in Garmin, I select "Select All" and it finds ID 10259 and I get the little Power Meter icon.

But in my old Garmin Edge 130, it specially says "PowerPod" and I also see 10259 (which is disabled at the moment) . All works well.

Too cold to go out to do any testing. Any ideas ?

Well, the good news is that your 520+ is finding your PP, sensor ID 10259.

Personally, I find Garmin bike computers to be extremely frustrating, and even mysterious in their operation. And I'm in the same industry...

After pairing PP to your 520, I think you can go into your Garmin profile and search for your PP. If you click on Details I suspect you will find it says PowerPod.

Yep, I checked around under details, and it's listed as a power meter, 10259. So, when it warms up Saturday, ill take it for a ride. My guess is, if it's ID is listed, and I have it set to record at 3sec. it should be indicating power .

There are a couple beta versions at the location above -


I think some of the more recent updates - even in beta - have a chance of capturing sensors better or more reliably.

SOFTWARE version 5.20, it did UPDATE as I was setting it up. Says no updates available. I'll check out those beta though. Thanks
